I am a single mom who added to my family by adopting through the foster system.  I have a 21 year old son from my previous marriage (currently attending University of Oregon- Go Ducks!) and have adopted two boys, biological brothers, who are 14 and 15 (8th and 10th grade).  I started this blog years ago to chronicle the ups and downs of the adoption journey, yet had no idea the areas this journey would take me.

Living in Northern California and working full-time from home as a non-profit executive, I felt called to establish a voice around trauma, race, adoption, and parenting — all grounded in my faith. This call led to me to establish a consulting business focused on childhood trauma and understanding its repercussions (see this site at Through this journey, I have made mistakes, and will undoubtedly continue to make them. I will say things that are misunderstood and are sometimes wrong, as I continue to understand my privilege and how it colors my place, my perspective, and my voice in this world. In the end, what I know above all is that only through God’s strength and grace that I can do this at all. ¬†Thanks for reading.
